Business, Process and Data Analyst - 21/05/25

Following skills and knowledge are required for the performance of the above listed tasks: 

•       Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in IT of which minimum 9 years as Functional or Enterprise Architect working in Analytics or Big Data project responsible for data and functional architecture, including expertise in distributed computing and cloud computing technics and architecture.

•       Minimum 10 years of experience in business requirements gathering, producing functional specifications, data modelling, database design and data transformation design.

•       Proven experience (5 years at least) working in large-scale IT or analytical projects in a public sector or EU institutional context.

•       Minimum 2 years of practice in Confluence, JIRA. MS experts

•       Minimum of 5 years in the private sector working on Data Transformation projects at a large scale where the following technology were deployed

•       Containerization and micro-services applications and services deployment

•       Kubernetes applications delivery and architecture

•       Real-time data services – as Kafka or other JMS queues

•       Using xSQL DBs and NoSQL Dbs

•       Knowledge of architecture of Data Lake and Data Warehouse are considered a plus

•       Knowledge of different solutions in the Data Transformation industry (HDP, Cloudera) is considered as a plus

•       Knowledge in the EU Customs Risk Management domain, SSA and ICS2 IT architecture.

•       Ability to understand the business scope of the project, related legislation, business process descriptions, functional architecture and capacity to follow discussion with business stakeholders and understand their impact on the project scope, definition and defined timelines.

•       Eagerness to stay up to date with the AI industry evolution, with vendor product offerings and analytics technologies and increasing awareness of these into the organization.

•       A good understanding of the following applications are required – Dataiku, Jupyterlab, RStudio, Superset, Denodo, File Browser, etc.

•       Understanding of data governance, data quality, data security and data protection principles.

•       Strong problem-solving skills with proven ability to break down large and complex projects into structured and manageable tasks.

•       Experience in preparing and executing trainings for beginner or advanced IT systems users in topics related to data modelling. 

•       Ability to give business and technical presentations to multiple stakeholders while considering their IT and Business background.

•       Strong communication skills and ability to synthetise complex information in clear in structured technical documents.

•       Capacity to review and assess the quality, integrity and completeness of the various IT and Business specification documentation such as IT Architecture documents, conceptual and logical data models, use case specification (UCS), user interface specification, business process specification (BPMs).

•       Research and Innovation: Stay up to date with the latest advancements in data management, advanced data analytics IT systems development, project management, etc. 

•       Analytical mindset - ability to translate complex business problems into tasks obtainable to be solved by analytics techniques and IT solutions/tools; ability to translate the business needs and requirements to IT solutions and explain the solutions’ details to non-IT experts (also from MS).

•       Ability to work autonomously is mandatory; Strong organizational and coordination skills.

•       Creativity in problems solving, open mind, stress resistance.

Multitasking and results oriented constructive approach in daily work.

Following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of tasks:

•       Minimum 15 years experience in IT projects in private and public sector.

•       Minimum 2 years' experience in the Customs Safety and Security analytics domain.

•       Deep knowledge of the SSA business processes, SSA platform architecture, integrated tools, security measures and security plan, developed customised solutions, etc.

•       Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in developing/managing/exploring the data bases and IT systems.

•       Understanding of the ICS2 business processes, Common Repository data model. 

•       Capability to produce IT, data analytics, vision documents, security plans, data protection, related documents. 

•       Expertise in addressing issues related to SSA tools, with experience in troubleshooting problems within the SSA infrastructure, as well as identifying and resolving system vulnerabilities.
