Expert Elastic Engineer - Deadline 27/01/26

Consultancy support to ensure the sustained operation and progressive enhancement of its Observability (logs/metrics/traces) and Application Performance Monitoring/APM ecosystem, built on the on-premise deployments of Elastic Search technology stack.

Expertise and engineering knowledge on Elastic Search technology stack is high and several deployments are on production since 2015. Existing observability infrastructure and automation requires a review and modernization.

Technological stack and /or methodologies the consultant will be using:

• Core: Elastic Search technology stack with focus on Observability and Application Performance Monitoring (APM) using OpenTelemetry .

• Kibana dashboarding: Design new and improve existing Kibana dashboards for monitoring, observability (logs/metrics/traces) and alerting.

• Automation Practices: Streamlining workflows, optimizing pipelines, and integrating with existing DevOps tooling..

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Using Terraform to provision and configure Elastic and Kibana resources.

TASKS TO BE PERFORMED:

Elastic Search: Maintain and improve on-premises Elastic Search infrastructure on Kubernetes.

OpenTelemetry (OTel): Use the framework and tools to standardize the generation, collection, and export of telemetry data (logs, metrics, traces) from applications and infrastructure.

Observability: Maintain and improve on-premises Observability infrastructure.

Automated Deployments and configuration: Implement and manage automated deployment and configuration processes for Elastic Search and Kibana resources.

Operational Support: Assist in day-to-day activities related to Elastic Search and Observability.

CI/CD Support: Facilitate and enhance continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.

Deployment Procedures: Establish and maintain standardized procedures for deploying information systems.

Infrastructure Monitoring: Monitor and maintain the Observability infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Technical Review and Design: Conduct technical reviews, provide assurance, and design deployment strategies.

Terraform Development: Develop and enhance deployment processes using Terraform and related tools.

REQUIREMENTS:

More than 9 years of experience in ICT (e.g. as developer, system administrator, software engineer, infrastructure engineer, DevOps engineer, etc.)

A minimum of 5 years of experience with systems and IT operations

A minimum of 3 years of experience with Elastic Search and Kibana technology stack.

A minimum of 1 year of experience with Observability and OpenTelemetry (OTel).

A minimum of 1 year of experience working on infrastructure as code with Terraform (design and implementation).

Mandatory: Certification: Elastic Certified Engineer
